Why Is The Baby Laughing?

"Why is the baby laughing at the end of The Stroke Song?"

It's a question that we get about SMILE-The Stroke Song.
Some think the baby is crying; it's a matter of what you hear.

The baby at the end is our 7-month-old son, George.
George is the happiest baby that we've ever seen or heard.

He has a huge grin and an infectious hearty laugh.
When George smiles that wide-full-mouth-open-grin, all of life's
problems melt away by just looking at him.

George's name and spirit was prophetically foretold years before
he was conceived. My wife had stated that she just didn't want
anymore children. "Three kids are enough!" she said loudly.
She cried when the pregnancy test came back positive.

Plus, she just didn't like the name George.

"If it's a girl, you can name her anything that you choose but
if it's a boy, his name must be George," I told her.

She pouted before the pregnancy about the name "George."
She pouted during the whole pregnancy about that name.
She just didn't like it.

When we had the ultrasound it showed clearer than any of the
other three boys that this was a male. "That's George," I said,
the evidence plain on the screen. This was the first child
where we didn't need the nurse to interpret the ultrasound.
Even the untrained eye could see that this was a man-child.

When we look at George now it seems no other name fits.
His spirit of joy can be felt as well as seen and heard.
Puddin wouldn't give up George for a hundred million dollars.

George is like many of the things of life. We don't initially
want them, but they turn out to be our greatest joy.

Strokes have many causitive factors but stress is at the top of
the list. Stress causes a host of illnesses.

Laughter and joy counteracts harmful stress.
George has a great spirit of joy and laughter.

Perhaps the greater lesson to be learned is to laugh in the end.

So at the end of The Stroke Song is a hearty dose of laughter,
from the happiest baby that we've ever seen or heard.
