The Loved Lose

When love has to compete with “the game”
The game doesn’t win
The loved lose

When Love has to compete with the television
The television doesn’t win
The loved lose

When Love has to compete with the I-Pod
The I-pod doesn’t win
The loved lose

When Love has to compete with the computer
The computer doesn’t win
The loved lose

All those “things” that would draw you away from the family 
every time you say,
“I’ll be there just as soon as I……” do not win

But in every case
The loved one who needed you at that time did lose

So from time to time think about winning or losing

Would you lose so much if instead of waiting
you turned off that switch and went to those who needed you?

Computers and things will be here waiting.
They are good at that
Family won’t

Humans are an entity with an undetermined shelf life
One day they are there
The next
They could be gone

Too many precious moments have been missed and lost forever
For the want of “just a minute” 

It could have been that first step your spouse wanted you to watch

The first smile you could have witnessed 

The first uttered word

The “A+” paper brought home from school

The last moment of life that needed your comfort and attention

So think about winning or losing any time you are ready to say

”Just a minute, let me finish this.”
