#4269           Wings Over The Mountains of Life

It’s Hot
========

I live in northwest Florida and we were hit with a hurricane.

Before the storm, I prayed that our family and our home would be
safe. As the storm finally passed and we were able to go out to
see the damage to our house, we were very lucky that we just had
minor damage. We still had a roof over our head and with some
repairs it would be as good as new. I thanked God that He
answered my prayers.

As the day grew on and over the next day also, I found myself
fussing about being hot, bored and ready to get the power,
phone, cable, and mail service, etc. back on and back to normal.

I knew that the area was hit pretty hard but with no TV or
newspaper I did not know just how bad.

I ventured out on Saturday and just about cried.

People had lost everything and here I was fussing about being
hot. I stopped right then and asked God to forgive me for being
selfish.

You know, we have gotten so wrapped up in ourselves that we do
not take the time to put ourselves in other people’s shoes.

I pray that God will bless all the people affected by Ivan and
that He will show me what I can do to make someone’s day better.
